The KFC Day
At noontime,
I prodded three of my officemates to take lunch at KFC. I usually have a packed
lunch, but today I figured I haven’t eaten at KFC for a long time so I set my
mind to dine there much as payday is still few days ahead.
As we were
getting in the fast food, some of our officemates were going out with food
to go. Then as we scoured for a table, some other officemates were
offering a table for us since they were just done eating. I was amused by the coincidence
I thought some people must not have been eating at KFC for a long time as well
that they set their minds to dine today at the fast food.
So we had
our table and we fell in line at the counter.
We were
deciding for a favorable queue, only to find ahead of us on our left side our
team leaders having similar lunch scheme with us. Moreover, we discovered
further ahead of us on our right side our data analysts lining up too! I was
quite overwhelmed by the fortuitous encounter I thought today must be
KFC-chicken-day or KFC-gravy-day or KFC-french-fries-day! They could have
chosen the jolly jeeps or other adjacent fast foods like Jollibee and Tang City.
I mean why
KFC? Why and the perpetual why?
Anyway, i
just remembered today is Friday. Back at the seminary, we weren’t allowed to
eat meat on Fridays. Only fish, egg and vegetables were allowed. No chicken at
all. And more so
KFC chicken! And however much KFC chicken was allowed, there
wasn’t any KFC to buy from at my place.
[Update: I was able to manipulate the paragraph spacing by using mac. The html editor is displayed. Now my next problem would be on how to tweak that KFC logo so that it aligns with the “so-we-had…” line.]
